MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, documenting, and verifying new product designs as well as enhancing existing products to meet the needs of our customers.
- Design mechanical components and sub-assemblies
- Conceive of new and innovative approaches
- Prototype, test and analyze designs
- Write and execute design verifications
- Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including design, implementation, debug, verification, qualification and transfer
- Compile Design History Files in accordance with FDA requirements
- Perform process-related design tasks in support of pilot manufacturing
Requirements
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years work experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Medical Device experience preferred
- Demonstrated creativity to mechanical design challenges
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to drive solutions
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering materials, component selections, and design for reliability and manufacturability
- Knowledge and understanding of electromechanical systems
- Proficiency using CAD tools (ProE, preferred)

PATTERN RECOGNITION/IMAGE ANALYSIS EXPERT
We are looking for a highly experienced pattern recognition/image analysis expert with a scientific/analytical background and strong C++ programming skills to join our automated blood imaging team. This analyzer is an automated microscope, which assists hematology technicians in performing manual differentials on patient blood samples.
Responsibilities:
- Invent, prototype and implement algorithms for new Pattern Recognition/ Image Analysis applications within in vitro diagnostic microscopy
- Enhance current Pattern Recognition/ Image Analysis platform to broaden utility and increase hematology classification categories
- Interact with Marketing, Clinical Professionals and Hematology Development Team in defining and implementing Image Analysis capabilities
Requirements
- Expert in the area of pattern recognition/image analysis particularly in image segmentation and features extraction
- Strong analytical skills
Strong programmer with C++ experience
- Good knowledge of and hands-on experience with classical classifiers such as neural network, PCA (Principal Competent Analysis) and CART (Classification and Regression Tree) algorithms
- Excellent communication skills
- PhD or relevant experience
