Medica's EasySampler provides automated batch sampling of serum, plasma, or diluted urine with the EasyLyte Na/K, Na/K/Cl, and Na/K/Li electrolyte analyzers (urine analysis not applicable for lithium). EasySampler features a 24-position sample tray that includes 21 sample positions, one stat position, and two quality-control positions. The sample tray holds either 500 microliter or 2.0 mL sample cups.

When coupled with an EasySampler, the EasyLyte prints the results for each sample loaded in the sample tray, indicating tray and position number as well as date and time of analysis. Analysis of samples is repeated automatically if electrolyte values fall outside preset ranges (ranges are adjustable as described in the EasyLyte Operator's Manual). The operator can also request a repeat analysis of each sample falling outside preset ranges under the USER OPTIONS section of the EasyLyte menu. Sample analysis data is stored in  EasyLyte memory for later retrieval.

The EasySampler incorporates an optical safety interlock that detects any obstruction (such as the operator's hand) between the sample probe and the sample cup. Sample probe and tray motion will cease and a beep will sound until the obstruction is removed.
